We don't have many rules. we like it to be relaxed from both sides but we do have a few guidelines that if possible you can stick to.

Payments

Lessons should all be paid for before or at the end of each lesson. with blocks or Pay as you go

Cancellations

Over the last few months I have noticed a rise again in last minute cancellations.. 

I have always in the past spoken to you all about trying to be laid back about it all. But i think again I need to look at ways of maintaining a teachers wages and also feeling like what we charge is good value. 
So. I’m taking on a new way of doing it that I have seen other places do. 
Ok so .
I need to know of any cancellation the day before the lesson before 12pm.  This means that lessons can be rearranged to fill gaps. Students who have wanted a different time that week can be fitted in and scheduled. Teachers know what they are doing and feel secure of their earnings before they start the day.. 

so…….

Any lesson cancelled after 12 the day before a scheduled lesson will be charged but instead of missing the lesson will now be sent a bespoke video catch up lesson on request covering some key points that would have been included in the lesson.. 
The teacher will make these in the slots that they would have been teaching and will send to a students WhatsApp group.. 
Any lessons cancelled before that can be rescheduled if possible or can still have a catch up video for £5.50 if wanted. But the lesson will not be charged. 

Teacher absence

When a teacher is ill on the day, I hope you understand that just as any other small business that most of the time it won’t be possible to get cover in place,

Just like you and your children, Music teachers are sometimes unwell aswell, we also have a responsibility not to spread things around if possible.

I will always do my best to get someone to cover a lesson slot but I hope you get that having a teacher employed just to cover last minute is unfeasible. 

In the situation where a lesson doesn’t happen for this reason, when able, the teacher will make one of the catch up videos with things to work on for the next lesson of which will of course be free of charge..
