At Ollie's Music Room, we believe in maintaining a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment, both for students and teachers. While we keep rules to a minimum, we do ask that a few simple guidelines are respected to ensure smooth operations.

Payments

All lessons should be paid for either before the lesson begins or at its conclusion.
We offer flexible payment options, including purchasing lesson blocks in advance or paying on a pay-as-you-go basis. This approach helps us maintain fairness and consistency for everyone.

Cancellations Policy

Over the past few months, we have observed an increase in last-minute cancellations. While we have previously adopted a relaxed approach to these changes, it is now necessary to implement a more structured policy to ensure teachers' wages are protected and the value of our lessons is upheld.

All cancellations must be communicated by 12:00 pm on the day before the scheduled lesson. This advance notice allows us to rearrange lessons efficiently: gaps in the schedule can be filled, students seeking different times that week can be accommodated, and teachers can enter their day with clarity and confidence regarding their earnings.

We appreciate your understanding with this

so…….

Any lesson cancelled after 12 noon on the day before a scheduled session will be charged in full. However, rather than missing out entirely, students may request a bespoke video catch-up lesson. This video will cover key points that would have been addressed during the original lesson. The teacher will prepare these videos during their usual teaching slots and share them via the student’s WhatsApp group.

For lessons cancelled before 12 noon the previous day, rescheduling is possible where availability allows. Alternatively, students may opt to receive a catch-up video for a nominal fee of £5.50. In such cases, the original lesson will not be charged.

Teacher Absence

We understand the importance of maintaining your regular lesson slot. All of our teachers are exceptional musicians and educators, when one teacher is unavailable due to professional commitments, another equally skilled teacher steps in to ensure your progress continues uninterrupted.

Having a different teacher cover your lesson is not only about continuity—it offers you a fresh perspective on your playing.

Much like a cover teacher at school, this approach guarantees that you never miss out on valuable learning time, which is crucial for mastering any instrument.

Continuity is key, and our commitment is to provide consistent, high-quality instruction, even when schedules require flexibility.

having said that..

On occasions when a teacher is unable to attend due to illness, please understand that, like any small business, arranging last-minute cover is often unfeasible.

Music teachers, like all of us, occasionally fall ill, and we are also mindful of not spreading illness wherever possible.

Rest assured, we always strive to find a suitable substitute. However, in the rare event that a lesson cannot take place, the teacher will provide a complimentary catch-up video detailing exercises and guidance to work on ahead of the next session.

By booking lessons with us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.

Thank you for your understanding and continued commitment to your musical development with us.
